Question from Mrs Goodhall in Cudworth Barnsley November 2006

1.Where and if in Brierley Joseph Dymond the astronomer and mathematician was born or where he lived if not born in Brierley?

 2. What relation would he have been to Thomas Dymond who purchased Burntwood Hall?

Hope you can help

Reply from Richard

There is quite a lot about Joseph Dymond on the internet. Yes He was born at the Dymonds home on Church Street Brierley, he lived for some time at Blyth Nottinghamshire where his memorial is in the Church yard.

Regards Richard
