Methodist Church

Mr F Bolton will take the Sunday morning service at 10.15am while the Rev Gill Newton will take the evening service at 6pm. Mr and Mrs E Hambleton will present this week's flowers and will also lead the Boys Brigade juniors on Wednesday at 6.30pm. There will be a ladies recreation evening on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

 

Fellowship

Mr and Mrs Hamby will be guest speaker at the Women's fellowship meeting at 2pm today (Wednesday). Margaret Watson will be pianist

Grange House

Jock Hinks won the raffle prizes at both Thursday and Friday's social evening s in Grange House, Rita Ford won on Monday.  

 

Spiritualist

There will be healing in the sanctuary on Friday night at 6pm till 6.45 followed by a clairvoyance service at 7pm led by Kathy Naggs from Harrogate. Denise Schofield from Rotherham will lead the Sunday service at 7pm.

 

Coppins

A few tickets still remain for the Social evening to be held at Coppins residential home on 20 April. Artiste Adam Stark will entertain and refreshments will be provided. Everyone is invited and tickets are £1. Details can be obtained from Pat Homer on 01226 712409. There will also be a clothes party where any profits will go towards the residents outing fund.

Social Club

At the Friday night social evening, Kevin Elvidge won the quiz and Margaret Clarke won the conundrum. Bernard Lucas won a meat pack and Colin Earl won four free pints. Taffy won the Sunday night rollover tote for £160 with numbers 21 and 26. Next weeks artiste will be Paul Bennett.  

 

Hillside Tara

There will be bingo sessions in the Tara offices on Hillside on Monday's at 7.15 pm. everyone welcome. The Easter raffle will be drawn next Friday.

 

Weight Watchers

At the weekly meeting in the Methodist Church hall, the members of the weight watchers lost a total of 33 pounds.  

 

Garden & Allotment Society

Six members attended the meeting of the Society last Sunday morning. New members are required. Contact the Secretary Pat Nichols on 01226 710888.  

 

Leaving Party

John and Sheila Beasley, who have been managing the Social club in the absence of Joe Minnock, are holding a leaving party on Monday night when a top line artiste will be engaged. Refreshments will be provided and everyone is welcome. The new manager will take over the club on Wednesday 11 April.  

 

Partnership

The Brierley Village Community Partnership met on Wednesday night in Brierley Hall to discuss the Constitution
