Spiritualist Church: There will be a healing in the sanctuary on Friday from 6 till 6.45pm followed at 7pm till 8 by an Open Circle. Margaret Pearson from Rotherham will take the Sunday evening service at 6pm till 7.15pm. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

 

THS Quiz: There is a general knowledge quiz at the Three Horse Shoes every Thursday at 9.30pm and music quiz on Sunday starting at 8pm. Mick Pointon won on Thursday with 15 out of 20 correct. And Terry Winter won a bottle of wine.

Women’s Fellowship: The ladies meet every Monday at 2pm in the Methodist Church Hall. The Speaker last week was Mrs L Keen

 

Ladies Recreation: There is a ladies recreation evening every Tuesday in the Methodist Church Hall at 7.30pm.

 

Methodist Church: There will be a baptism service on Sunday morning at 10.15am, which will be led by Rev T Keen. Mr H Burnley will take the evening service at 6. The welcoming steward this week will be Jean in the morning and Phyllis in the evening. The Cleaning Stewards will be Margaret and Jean while Pearl will provide the flowers. The Christmas hamper has been prepared and tickets are available at £1. The winners will be notified on Wednesday.

 

Brierley Cubs FC: It was disappointment for the under 9s last Sunday when, in a hard fought game they went down 1-0 away to Hoyland Town in the Millennium league. Kyle Dolton was their man of the match. On Sunday they will play at home in the welfare park to Mosborough kicking of at 10.30am. Payers to meet at 9 45. In the same league, the under 10s entertained Mosborough away from home and in an exciting game came out 6-1 winners. They will play New Lodge at home on Sunday with a 9.30am kick off.

Carol & Candle service: Everyone is invited to join Gail Davies for a carol and candle service at the Spiritualist Church next Friday 15th at 7pm. Mince pies and sherry after the service.

 

Boys Brigade: Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meet on a Wednesday night in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the boys.

 

Grange House: Winner of the social evening raffle on Monday was Ann Whitehead. Jock Hinks won on Thursday while Audrey Marsh claimed Fridays prize. On at 5pm the residents will enjoy their Christmas party. Bingo and a free raffle will be provided and the residents will receive a Christmas present.

St Paul’s Church: The Sunday Mass will be at 9.30am. Daily Mass will be taken on Monday at 10am and Friday at 3pm. Father Peter Needham will conduct the services. Marriage or Baptism enquires to be made to Father Peter Needham at St Luke’s Church Grimethorpe on Friday between 6.30 and 7.15pm.
