Pop In

The next Pop in club at the Methodist Church Hall will be held on Thursday from 9.15 till 11.15. Everyone is invited to pop in for tea, coffee and biscuits and a chat. Proceeds are towards church funds.

 

Line Dancing

Line dancing will take place on Monday in the Methodist Church Hall at 7pm.Entry is £2.50.

 

Women’s Fellowship

The Women’s Fellowship meeting takes place every Monday in the Methodist Church Hall at 2pm. The guest speaker last week was Edwin Hambleton.

 

Brierley Cubs FC

In the Millennium Sunday league last week, Brierley Cubs under 9s beat Worsborough Common at home 2-0. On target for Brierley were Macauley Haigh and Jason Dench who was also man of the match. Their next fixture is to be arranged. The under 7s didn’t have a match last weekend but will play both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. On Saturday they will play at home against Manton kicking of at 11am and on Sunday they will play away to Treeton with the kick off time to be arranged. The under 10s were also without a game last weekend but will play on Saturday away to Mapplewell kicking off at 10am.

 

Grange House

At the Grange House social evening on Monday, Liz Cooke won the raffle while Ray Fewster won on Thursday. Jean Kershaw won Friday’s prize.

Methodist Church

 The General Church Council meeting will be on Monday 23 April at 6pm.

 

Boys Brigade

Both the Junior Boys and Company Section meetings take place on Wednesday night in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the boys.

 

Ladies Recreation

A ladies recreation evening takes place in the Methodist Church Hall every Tuesday night starting at 7.30.

 

 

THS Quiz

There is a quiz night at the Three Horse Shoes on a Thursday at 9.30pm and on Sunday at 8pm there is a music, conundrum and general knowledge quiz. Sunday night winners were Mick Pointon who won the quiz, Mathew Kay who won the head to head and Steve Dootson who won the conundrum. Next weeks head to head will be for £20.

 

St Paul’s Church 

There will be a mass on Monday at 10am and in the evening there will be a Lenten study house group at 30 Bretton Close from 7pm till 8. On Wednesday there will be an invite to a Passover meal at St Paul’s Roman Catholic Church at Grimethorpe starting at 7pm. On Thursday there will be a PCC meeting at St Paul’s at 7pm. On Saturday 31 March there will be a Parish Conference at St Paul's led by Revd Michael Rawson, Chaplain to the Bishop of Wakefield starting at 10am till 1pm. All marriage or Baptism enquires to be made to Father Peter at St Luke’s Church Grimethorpe on Friday between 6.30 and 7.15pm.
