Church Street undergoing changes

The 14 new luxury apartments by WBH homes on the old St Paul's school site next to Fidling farm (the old Danny Oates ice cream yard) are well under construction

The cemetery is also looking a lot better after the compulsory purchase and demolition of the old house to make room to extend it. The area has been cleared of rubbish and trees cut back and an entry gate off Church Street has also been added.

Fidling Farm part of which can be seen to the right of the photograph on the left will also be demolished shortly to once again make way for new housing development and if BMBC have there way, the Brierley Hall site and works depot is also to be sold for housing development.

Photograph left shows the 14 new luxury apartments by WBH homes on the old St Paul's school site under construction and below left is the demolition of the old house on Church Street. On the right shows how it looks today after all the mess has been cleared and the trees cut back.
