Aladdin
Pyramid Productions
will be coming to the Lifestyle community centre on 14
December at 4pm with their production of the pantomime
Aladdin. Tickets for children under 16 are now on sale at £3
each, while 16 year olds and over may purchase tickets at
the reduced price of £1.
Father Christmas
Children of Brierley
will be able to visit Father Christmas in his Grotto at the
post office on Saturday 13 December between 10am and twelve
noon and
receive a small gift from Debbie and a free
photograph taken with Santa courtesy of Brierley and its
people in photographs. A £1 voluntary donation to charity
would be kindly accepted and which will be presented to
Terry Haynes from the Grimethorpe Ambulance Association
towards their Christmas party for young adults with special
needs from Brierley, Shafton and Grimethorpe.
Brierley Cubs FC
The away game against
Dale Juniors in the quarter final of the Millennium league
cup last Sunday was postponed due to the weather. It is
hoped it can be rearranged for this Sunday.
Grange House
On Tuesday residents will hold their
Christmas party when the Grimethorpe and District Junior
Brass Band will play. The event will start at 5pm till 9pm
and all residents will receive a present from Father
Christmas.
Pop In
The last Pop in morning before the
Christmas holidays will take place on Thursday from 9.15am
till 11 at the Methodist church hall. Everyone is invited to
pop in for tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat.
Boys Brigade
Both the Junior Boys
and Company Section meetings take place on Wednesday night
in the Methodist Church Hall. The 7 to 11 year olds meeting
will take place from 6.30pm till 8pm and the older boys will
meet from 7pm till 9. Edwin and Elizabeth Hambleton lead the
boys.
Proceeds are towards church funds.
St Paul’s
On
Saturday 13th December, there is a Christmas Fair
at Brierley St Paul’s church from It 4pm till 6pm. There
will be a Santa's grotto, Christmas stalls, cake
stall, mulled wine, tea coffee and music by
Grimethorpe & District Brass band.
On
Sunday 14 at 7.30pm there will be a Christmas concert by
the pupils from Brierley school. Tickets are £4.
Jenny who teaches the pupils and some of her friends will
also play musical instruments.
On 22
December if the weather is fine, members
will be going round the
village carol singing with Brierley school choir.
