Church Institute

The building was erected in 1911 by the Cordeux family and left as a gift to the people of the village.  From 1916 right up to the mid 1960s, the Institute, apart from other things, was used as the infants class for the nearby St Paul's school. In 1966 it was bought by the Brierley branch of the Royal British Legion for £5,000 and in 1968 became Brierley Ex club. Sam Smith's brewery now owns the building and it is now known as Brierley Social club.
