The Great East Window

The window above the high altar is divided into twenty panels each one depicting a stage in the life of Jesus his enthronement as king yet wearing the robes of a priest and being failed by angels. There is shown the crucifixion scene in five more panels, the resurrection from the tomb, the nativity at Bethlehem and two angels and crowned with thorns.

The inscription at the base of the centre panel reads, “This window is erected in most affectionate remembrance of John Hoyland and Mary Hoyland”.
